Support PPF on Giving Tuesday!

Thank you for supporting Cascadia Poetics Lab and the Poetry Postcard Fest! Thanks to you, an estimated 18,000 original postcard poems were sent by postcard poets throughout the fest’s history. Paul Nelson and Lana Ayers created PPF in 2007 with the intention of providing an outlet for spontaneous composition and community building, and now we are approaching the 20th season of postcard poetry with participants around the globe! Through PPF, friendships have been built, creative practices developed and poems started during PPF have been published. Thank you for your consistent dedication and enthusiasm for your fellow postcard poets year after year.

2025 postcard poet James Ducat had this to say about the fest:

This is my third year doing the Poetry Postcard Fest, and I get to do many things at once: I can express my own creativity in the making of the postcards and the writing of the poems; I get to see what others are doing, creatively, with their postcards; and perhaps most importantly, I am able to have a material, human to human connection via handwriting and card, and the chance to recognize and celebrate the bond we share as humans, is worth all the effort.

Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a “global generosity movement,” encouraging donors around the world to extend the spirit of gratitude and giving imbued by the holiday season to nonprofit organizations. This Giving Tuesday, December 2, 2025, if you have the means to do so, we ask that you extend your support to Cascadia Poetics Lab and the Poetry Postcard Fest. With our 20th year of postcards approaching, we are planning FREE online and in-person programming for postcard poets to develop their craft, engage with fellow poets and welcome new participants. Your support of our programming helps fund events like Postcards from Mapes Creek or Tim Mateer’s Online Workshop so that we can pay the staff that puts these events together (that’s me!) and keep the price accessible for our community.

You can donate and learn more about Cascadia Poetics Lab’s annual fund that covers ongoing operational costs HERE. Thank you for being an essential part to the function of this organization. If you have any questions or comments, you can contact CPL HERE.
