The launch of 56 Days of August: Poetry Postcards, an anthology that was ten years in the making is finally happening in the Bay Area THIS WEEKEND! Join us for a poetry reading celebrating the publication of 56 Days of August(Five Oaks Press) . Readers will include participants in the yearly August Poetry Postcard Festival, Tupelo 30/30 alumns, and anthology editors Ina Roy-Faderman and Paul Nelson. A great opportunity to hear some amazing short-form poetry, meet he poets,  and purchase your own copy of this gorgeous poetry-and-art anthology. If you can’t make the reading or would like to purchase an anthology ahead of time, the book is available through Book Passage’s webstore for the month before the reading.

Join us for an intergenerational poetry dialogue to celebrate the publication of 56 Days of August at this editor’s favorite, art-friendly, and non-pretentious Silicon Valley coffee house. Readers and discussants will include participants in the yearly August Poetry Postcard Festival, local adult and youth poets, and anthology editors Ina Roy-Faderman and Paul Nelson. A great opportunity to hear some wonderful  poetry, meet local poets, and purchase copies of individual poets works and your own copy of this gorgeous poetry-and-art anthology.

Postcarding and DaySonging (A Workshop). In this session it will be a presentation of how the postcard fest developed, how the daysong developed, how I prepare for the fest and how participants attending prepare for the fest, as well as how to prepare for a successful daysong. The similarities of the daysong to serial poetry could be discussed, as well as the effort to put one’s self into the open, which has benefits in one’s own life.
