Tim Mateer Postcard Workshop

Learn about different techniques and perspectives in writing and designing postcards with longtime Poetry Postcard Fest poet Tim Mateer! Tim has created and mailed over 2,000 Poetry Postcards in his illustrious postcard career. He is celebrating his 15th year with the poetry postcard festival. In an attempt to save the post office, he sends 800 to 850 postcards a year, hand making over 200 of those cards. In the workshop, Tim will provide access to his process of making poetry postcards and guide participants through postcard writing and making techniques.

The workshop will take place on November 22, 2025, 10 AM-12 PM PST online over Zoom and is FREE to registrants of the 2026 Poetry Postcard Fest. Not registered for the PPF 2026 yet? REGISTER HERE. Want to register for the workshop without registering for PPF 2026? REGISTER HERE for free with a suggested donation of $40 to support CPL’s programming.

Thank you to Tim for facilitating this workshop! We look forward to celebrating postcard poetry with you.

Interview with Postcard Poet Laura Gamache

Part of the Cascadia 2050 mission is: to inspire artists and poets of the next generation to consider bioregionalism and intuitive poetic approach as a way to foster a more just and sustainable Cascadia by 2050. To this end, one of our goals is to interview people who help us spread awareness by having practices in their lives that reflect these values. This interview with Postcard Poet Laura Gamache, a Seattle who has published poetry in the usual places, such as chapbooks, journals and anthologies, and also unusual places, such as buses, is the first of the series.
