Last Year’s Poster

I am planning the third Poems for Peace event on September 21 at 7PM at Spring Street Center.  Last year this was the post. This was how I connected the poetry postcard fest with the Poems for Peace event and with peace-making in general. Here is the audio from last year. We plan a performance of about 90 minutes and lots of time to hang out and eat, drink & mingle. Postcard poets are welcome to attend and read a poem or two, especially if there is a peace connection, though that is implied with the project. See this post for the postcard fest. And we’ll have some lodging for people who plan ahead and want an overnight stay in Seattle. See: our current Airbnb listings here for

I hope you’re join us in the effort to celebrate community and praise peace in this time of whole-system transition with so much blood in this world being spilled.

Throughout the year, we organize events designed to foster a community of like-minded people centered around organic, open-form poetry, and an ecological philosophy that emphasizes a connection to our bioregion, its history and the indigenous people that lived here long, long before colonization. We aim to expose our supporters to ideas about art as an art-of-living practice, inspired by the spiritual practice of understanding the bioregion surrounding us: soil, air, water, flora, fauna, and weather. In 2023, we hosted a successful Poetry Postcard Fest and the 7th Cascadia Poetry Festival, along with launching Watershed Press and publishing our anthology Cascadian Zen Vol. I. This is all thanks to donations from people like you!
