Mycelium: Poetry of Connection published by postcard poet Maureen Kane

Postcard poet Maureen Sandra Kane has published a new poetry collection, Mycelium: Poetry of Connection through Gray Matter Press. The collection is “an exploration of the human condition through the lens of a mental health therapist and soul-explorer. They invite us to reclaim ourselves and celebrate times of turmoil. Dear Poetry by Maureen Sandra Kane

Show me your edges and textures,
colors vivid and dull.

Drop me into your paintings
and let me roll down the hills of pigment like a child
bumping over the grains of your brush strokes.

Tunnel me into my heart
so I can sit in its cave
the walls beating as I breathe sound.

Fly me to spaciousness
where wings unfurl
and possibilities spiral around me.
Where stars are steppingstones
to the next galaxy
and I wear constellations in my hair.

Toss me in your garden
where water droplets kiss snail trails and spider webs.
Shrink me small so I can
sit in a flower and snuggle with a sleeping honeybee
both of us drunk on nectar,
inhaling marigold love.

Place me in elder women’s hands
who have known lifetimes
of labor and love
clenching to protect
opening to invite
dancing to create.

Put me on your tour bus
and talk to me through the megaphone.
Show me your sights, your history
your ruins
and your gleaming cities.

Meet me where the images inside me
struggle for words.
Allow me to trade my words
for your worlds.
