Celebrate Cascadia Day THIS WEEKEND!

May 12, 2025
by Veronica Martinez

May 18 is Cascadia Day and the anniversary of the 1980 eruption of Mt. St. Helens. On Cascadia Day, we celebrate the Cascadia bioregion in all of its breathtaking beauty, dynamism and ferocity, and we take the time to spread awareness of bioregionalism.

Cascadia BioFi May 17-18

Celebrate Cascadia Day with Cascadia Poetics Lab this weekend at the Cascadia BioFi Conference! Hosted by Regenerate Cascadia at the historic Georgetown Steamplant, Cascadia BioFi will be a two-day gathering of leaders and community workers discussing ways in which we can create pathways to support bioregionalist workers in Cascadia. Cascadia Poetics Lab presenters Paul Nelson, Robert Lashley, Claudia Castro Luna, Jason Wirth, Matt Trease and Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs will be reading poetry and presenting positive alternatives to the nation state on May 17 at 8 P.M. Learn more about Cascadia BioFi here!
