CPF9 Winter in America (Again Reading VIDEO

On October 12, 2025, we closed off the 9th Cascadia Poetry Festival with a reading Winter in America (Again reading at Jude’s Old Town. CPL founder and Winter in America (Again co-editor Paul E. Nelson presented the reading, introducing publisher Greg Bem, co-editors Roxi Power and Katie Sarah Zale, and readers Brenda Cárdenas, Matt Trease, Brenda Hillman, Zach Charles, Lorin Medley, Robert Lashley, Theresa Whitehill, Alicia Hokanson and Jim Dott. Matt Trease read a memorial dedication to poet Pierre Joris, and Brenda Hillman read a memorial dedication to poet Alice Notley.

Thank you so much to everyone that helped organize and run the 9th Cascadia Poetry Festival! We were so excited to be able to bring the love of poetry and place to the Rainier Beach neighborhood, and we are so grateful to every dedicated supporter, volunteer and poet that traveled to South Seattle to engage in our community. This festival felt so soaked in community excitement and love, and we are eagerly awaiting the 10th Cascadia Poetry Festival (so stay tuned!)

This interview with Postcard Poet Laura Gamache, a Seattle who has published poetry in the usual places, such as chapbooks, journals and anthologies, and also unusual places, such as buses, is the first of the series.
