Now that the dust has settled from the 10th Cascadia Poetry Festival, we want to announce officially that we are creating a Latinx-centric event called Los Cerezos Literary Festival, April 16-18, 2027, at Seattle U and Kubota Garden.

We’ve created a committee to oversee this event with CPL Board Membe4r and Seattle U Professor, Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs, former CPL Board Member Nadine Maestas of Cornish College and UW Bothell, Xavier Cavazos of Central Washington University, Saga Sundström and your humble narrator.

Los Cerezos is: “A celebration of diverse and marginalized voices aimed at amplifying Latinx/Chicanx writers through building an intersectional collective centered on readings, education and residencies. We intend to bridge the gaps between the public and the university through literary arts.” More information here: https://cascadiapoeticslab.org/los-cerezos/ We are taking applications for participation in the inaugural event.
