I was delighted today to interview Lulu Zilinskas on the astrology of Clyfford Still. An archivist and intuitive practitioner utilizing astrology and tarot, she currently serves as the archivist and manager of digital collections at the Clyfford Still Museum and sat down at the museum on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, to discuss the astrological aspects that may have affected the life and work of the Abstract Expressionist legend. As a 2026 Resident Institute Fellow at the museum in Denver, I have been given special access and below present my introduction to set the tone for the fascinating conversation with Lulu Zilinskas.

As an institute residential fellow for the month of July 2026, I’m looking for any clues that can help me better understand how Clyfford still created the enormous gesture in painting and in a legacy that ended up with a museum bearing his name and dedicated to the ongoing study and exhibition of his work here in Denver, Colorado. Lulu Zilinskas has held positions in archives across the US, including the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, LA Louvre and the North Carolina Digital Heritage Center. Lulu also maintains a dedicated astrology and tarot practice drawing on collaborative intuition to guide readings.
