This month’s Subduction spoken word event at Vermillion Gallery & Bar is at 7 pm Wed. Nov 4! The theme of this particular reading is Cascadia poems of resistance, and the evening is centered around poets who have work in Winter in America (Still. Very excited for this event, each Subduction reading has been high energy and with an enthusiastic audience! The series is a collaboration between the Cascadia Poetics Lab and Cascadia Democratic Action.
CDA is a grassroots org pushing conversations about Cascadia autonomy as a strategy to pushback against US fascism. I usually give a little talk about the org and some of our efforts prior to the reading. You all presumably know about our other partner, Cascadia Poetics Lab.
Vermillion in Seattle is on Capitol Hill, at 1508 11th Ave.
Doors open at 6:30, Admission is free, but we encourage the audience to donate to a different mutual aid group each month. This month, we’ll be raising funds for Readers4Gaza, a mutual aid fundraiser for families in Gaza, Sudan, and Congo.
Readers scheduled to appear are:
Andrew Engelson
C.W. Buckley
Alicia Hokanson
Terran Campbell
Julene Weaver

PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD AND BRING YOUR FRIENDS! These readings happen once a month and it’s amazing how quickly those 4 weeks go before there’s another!
