Cascadia Poetics LAB

On September 1, 2021, SPLAB officially changed name to Cascadia Poetics LAB. Our new name and design reflect our mission:

Empowering people to practice poetry & deepen connections to place, self & the present moment.

We believe that poetry is the nexus

at which self-knowledge, bioregionalism and expansive creativity converge. Cascadia Poetics Lab is a vibrant community whose workshops, festivals, and opportunities for connection can open the door to transformative experiences.

Name:

our name, Cascadia Poetics LAB, expands our poetic mission to the Cascadia Bioregion, beyond Seattle.

Logo:

our logo combines the iconic image of Mt. St. Helens rising out of an open book – representing deepening of connection to ‘place’ (the bioregion of Cascadia) through the practice of literature (rising out of a open book). Our palette is wide, diverse and saturated – representing the opportunity for bold, varied, inclusive and expansive creative expression.

Events:

we hope you’ll join us in our continuing annual events:
