How To Make An America (John Tanner)

John Tanner on Richard Brautigan

What a joy it has been to meet a Richard Brautigan scholar John Tanner in Brussels, hear him present his work on Brautigan at our 2017 Cascadia Poetry Festival and then interview him on his book about a road trip he took on the US west coast in the spirit of the Beats. The book is How To Make an America and John Tanner is a bright, kind and wise guide to Richard Brautigan and provides a Welshman’s view of USAmerican literary culture.

One section of the interview in particular is worth your time. (This one.) But the whole interview is quite worthwhile. That I present it on the eve of the 7th Cascadia Poetry Festival is, for me, a joy. ENJOY!
