Call to Poets (Lakewold Gardens)

January 4, 2025
Ryukan
Hello,

My name is Ricardo de la Torre and I work as Curator of Art and Music at Lakewold Gardens.

We are a historically recognized public garden and non-profit organization in Lakewood, WA and we host an annual Winter Garden Poetry event. Alongside it we put out a Call to Poets open to all residents of Washington state. We are looking for short, original poems. Up to ten selected poets will be featured in the event on Feb. 22 (the top three receiving a cash prize), get a professional headshot and audio recording of their poem as well as a sign displayed on the garden grounds where people can access their poem through a QR code.

The Call closes on Jan. 17 and I was wondering if it would be possible for you to distribute this information among your community. The details are on our website (https://lakewoldgardens.org/gardenpoetry/)…

Thank you very much and best wishes for the new year,

Ricardo de la Torre
