Our end-of-the-fest open mic had many surprising moments, from impressions of a chicken’s “moancluck” to batshit poems written while drunk to an opportunity to send a postcard to the former First Lady of Iceland. With a continuum from beginners to postcard veterans, there were inspired poems, incredible images and stories of postcard joy. We are especially grateful to those postcard poets who signed up for 2027 and made a donation to help the fest and its parent org, the Cascadia Poetics Lab, stay around for a little longer.
