Dear Friends,

I am very pleased to announce that—at long last—I have a Web site focusing on my literary efforts (…to the tune of “Lush Life” by another “Billy” [Mr. Strayhorn, to me]…J).  The site features my eight books of Pablo Neruda translations ,which are available for sale via a link to Copper Canyon Press; my own poetry, essays, and a comprehensive interview; readings and my performances with jazz and classical musicians (including a recording of the poem “To the Antiphonist,” with the incomparable Louis Valentine Johnson on classical guitar); my availability for readings and performances, conferences, panels, and teaching; and a live calendar of events.  The site is designed by Stephanie J. Steyers of Creative Wisdom, who is a total delight to work with.  I hope you enjoy the site; if you are so moved, please feel free to send your comments as a reply to this message.  I look forward to hearing from you!

Please check out the Calendar page.  While I’ve been busy in my study, my public offerings don’t resume at this juncture until April, with a lecture on the 4th at Sacramento Poetry Center (“The Silence That Is Great Within Us: The Many Voices of Our Poetry”) and a Moonday West reading on the 8th, at the exquisite Aldersgate Retreat Center in Pacific Palisades (Los Angeles).  Click on these April events for more information.  It would be wonderful to see you at either or both!

Three new poems—“ The Physics of Beauty,” “The Handout,” and “The Chords”—are forthcoming in an engrossing and beautifully presented new journal, Clover: A Literary Rag (Clover #4), edited by Mary Gillilan and Norman Green.  Copies and subscriptions can be ordered from:

My warmest wishes, and Happy Holidays to you and yours!
