Led by Martha Linehan
A walk from Coastal Kitchen (429 15th Ave. E., Seattle 98112) to Spring Street Center. We will converge in front of C. Kitchen & proceed along 15th Avenue, stopping along the way at Marion’s various haunts/places she lived, petting cats, picking up trash, etc.

Memorial Celebration: 2-5pm
Spring Street Center, 1101 15th Ave., Seattle 98122
A gathering to celebrate Marion with readings, food & music.
Memorial program will be followed by an open mike.
David & Marian Whited will be organizing food, so please
bring hor d’oeuvres/finger food to them at the Spring Street Center,
prior to procession (no earlier than noon) or afterward.
Warning: Parking anywhere on Capitol Hill in Seattle is difficult to find.

Poet Spotlight: Tess Gallagher

Among the many influential Cascadian poets that we are excited to welcome to the 7th Cascadia Poetry Festival on October 6-8 is the award winning Port Angeles poet and short story writer Tess Gallagher. Gallagher will be hosting a workshop entitled “Stimulating the Satori Moment in Poems.”

I received my BA in Creative Writing and English from the University of Arizona, and lived in Arizona for most of my life. While I had some previous knowledge of Washington state thanks to various family members that have lived here, I only had a basic understanding of the impact Washington, and the entire Cascadia bioregion, had on literature.
