We are delighted to announce that the Cascadia Poetics Lab has a new Administrative Assistant, Veronica Martinez. A little about her:

Veronica Martinez is Cascadia Poetics Lab’s Administrative Assistant and is a fiction writer, poet, and musician. Veronica graduated from the University of Arizona in May of 2022 with a Bachelor of Arts in Creative Writing, and has had multiple pieces of fiction and poetry published in student-run literary journals and zines based in Arizona. Veronica has experience working in educational nonprofits such as the Boys and Girls Club of Arizona, and interned with the Worlds of Words Reading Ambassador Program, where she assisted in the planning and organization of published author events for middle and high school students. Veronica grew up in a military family and moved around throughout her childhood, growing up mostly in Germany. She hopes to spend much more time traveling and using her experiences around the world in her writing. With two musician parents, Veronica herself is a lover of music, and deeply enjoys balancing her love of literature, music and performance through her poetry. Veronica currently lives in downtown Seattle with her partner and their cat.

She already has posted on the Poetry Postcard Fest Facebook page and gotten a warm reception there. (I would expect no less!) She has also signed up for the fest, so 31 lucky people will get a poetry postcard from her this summer. Registration is open and the first draft lists are set to go out June 25. Click here to join and set yourself up for postcard joy this summer!
