On Friday, January 19, 2024 at 7pm, Arundel Books hosted a reading from Cascadian Zen. Two of the books three editors were there, Tetsuzen Jason Wirth and your humble narrator in his first public reading since taking on the Buddhist precepts in the Jukai ceremony, Paul Ryukan Nelson. We were joined by contributors Gabriella Gutiérrez y Muhs, Ann Spiers, Terran Campbell and Alicia Hokanson. Copies of the book are for sale at Arundel and we are grateful for their support of this anthology. This event was supported by Poets & Writers!
In addition, we provided advance copies of Cascadian Prophets, our second book of interviews at the reading. The book will officially launch at our 30th anniversary celebration, Friday, February 2 at the Columbia City Gallery.
This book took three years to create and is a stunning document of the culture of this bioregion known as Cascadia. In many ways the book is a culmination of 30 years of work and we hope you’ll attend and consider buying the book, the first Watershed Press book. The press is a project of the Cascadia Poetics Lab.
Here is the audio from the reading. Here is audio from the Q&A.
