CA Conrad’s Ritual to Ward off Intrusions

CA Conrad’s Intrusion Ritual at CPF8

On Sunday, November 3, 2024, we closed out the 8th Cascadia Poetry Festival with a reading and ritual by poet and professor CA Conrad. Conrad opened this ritual by talking about how many poets they know that don’t write anymore, and how many of us writers are unable to find the time to write. This ritual is to aid in this issue, helping us ward off intrusive thoughts throughout the day so that we may write with a more clear mind whenever we find a spare moment. Watch CA Conrad explain how we can all utilize this ritual to improve our writing experience!

Thank you!

A huge thank you to CA Conrad and all of the incredible speakers featured at CPF8! Thank you to our supporters that attended the festival and celebrated poetry and place in Cascadia with us. If you love what we do and would like to get involved in our additional programming, check out our workshops, podcast and publications

Thanks so much for sharing this… CA is amazing.

It was quite wonderful to hear CA at the festival and I love this clip as a demonstration of CA’s insights and intuitions about the poetry writing process. Students who work with them are lucky to share CA’s openness and intelligence.
