CPF9 Kubota Garden Reading

On October 12, 2025, we began the last day of the 9th Cascadia Poetry Festival with a reading at Kubota Garden. We gathered at the gorgeous garden on a gloomy morning to listen to readings by Alicia Hokanson, Roxi Power and Robert Michael Pyle. You can now watch the full video BELOW!

Kubota Garden is an amazing and breathtaking natural resource in south Seattle! You can learn more about Fujitaro Kubota, the founder of the garden, and his life by watching this FREE documentary. You can also learn about the garden by reading Spirited Stone: Lessons from Kubota’s Garden, a collection of short stories, essays, poems and art exploring and celebrating the life and work of Fujitaro Kubota. Learn how to support the garden by clicking HERE.

You can now watch the full reading video below! Thank you to Savannah Bulloch for capturing the photos and video.

Interview with Postcard Poet Laura Gamache

Part of the Cascadia 2050 mission is: to inspire artists and poets of the next generation to consider bioregionalism and intuitive poetic approach as a way to foster a more just and sustainable Cascadia by 2050. To this end, one of our goals is to interview people who help us spread awareness by having practices in their lives that reflect these values. This interview with Postcard Poet Laura Gamache, a Seattle who has published poetry in the usual places, such as chapbooks, journals and anthologies, and also unusual places, such as buses, is the first of the series.
